It’s that time of year again! Time for the annual Del Close Marathon at the UCB Theatre in NY! This year’s marathon is June 29th - July 2nd, and will feature non-stop improv from some of UCB’s greats as well as improvisers from all around the country!

This past weekend marked the 13th Annual Del Close Marathon at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. Created in honor of the man who trained some of the brightest stars in comedy today, the marathon featured 3 days of non-stop improv comedy from around the country.

During Comic Con this year, CNU Editors Kristin and Danielle had a chance to sit down with some of the creative geniuses behind Comedy Central’s new Kroll Show: Executive ProducerJohnathan Levinstein, Comedian and Kroll Show frequenter Jon Daly, and the man himself, Nick Kroll to discuss the brand new sketch series.

Today, while I was feeling really down on myself about being prescribed both a nasal spray and a neti pot for my sinus infection that won’t ever seem to go away (seriously, you guys will hear what I really sound like on the podcast someday, I promise), I decided to discretely slip over to the local theatre and watch Jack and Jill.

Danielle here! Most of the other CNU editors have columns and I was getting jealous so I figured I’d try one on for size. We’ll see if this sticks or not.

It is December 27th, meaning that you have 363 days to write and film your holiday special so it can air on Christmas Day 2012, if we’re all still alive by then! (A Post-Apocalyptic Christmas could be the next Lifetime hit…)

So last night I got to attend a taping of Jimmy Pardo’s podcast Never Not Funny at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC. If you’ve never been to the Gramercy, it’s a very small theatre with a balcony, traditionally for rock concerts, so it was a very cozy environment.

So our Day 3 at NYCC started and ended with this panel. The Todd Margaret panel featured David Cross (and only David Cross) and was moderated by H. Jon Benjamin.

Day 2 started off with a line that scaled the entire outside of the Javits center, which, to give you an idea of how long the line was, is roughly 4 city blocks long and one city block deep.

I’ll describe what happened in these panels either in the podcast or the big Comic Con post since we have to wake up super early to get into the city in time for the IFC panel, but yeah.

First off, I would like to apologize for the crappy photo quality. In a brilliant move, I accidentally left my memory card at home and Kristin accidentally left her battery, so we only had camera phones.

CNU Editor Kristin and I headed down to Tennessee this past weekend to check out all the action at Bonnaroo, but also to bring you guys live coverage from the Comedy Tent. 

I remember when I was first getting into comedy in the early 2000’s hearing the term “comedienne” in reference to female comedians a lot. I somewhat enjoyed the term and started using that word to describe what I wanted to be when I grew up.

So I recently stumbled across this little gem while I was browsing the terrible list of movies to watch instantly on Netflix (whereas adversely, the list of TV shows on Instant is glorious) and I have to say, it was not at all what I expected.

So I was thinking in the shower earlier (all of my best thinking is done while being pelted by 95 degree water whilst completely nude) about my senior show (which is the graphic design major’s equivalent to a senior thesis) and what to say during my big presentation in a couple of weeks.
